The competition was extremely high and especially in the High Jump which is one of the most keenly contested events. The record in the event was broken on several occasions and currently stands at 62. In other events the competition was equally high with pupils really pushing themselves to be the best. In discuss and Javelin pupils returned excellent scores and reached the end of the throwing line.
All the pupils earnt points for their house and these all contributed towards the eventual winner. Due to the hot weather extra rest breaks were taken and pupils allowed extra drink breaks. There was even time in the afternoon for a staff vs pupil sprint and some staff pupil relay and the highlight of the day was seeing Mr Rice retain his crown of winning the 100m sprint much to the disgust of many of the pupils. After a very hard fought battle and a day conducted in good spirits it was Blue House who were eventually victorious in winning the Sports Day Cup.
